We've done our 1st month!!!

Today is our 4th weigh in.... which means we've been living our healthier lifestyle for a month already!!!! Wahoo!!!  So I lost another 4 pounds last week :)  yay!!!  so that puts me at a total loss of 14 pounds in 4 weeks!!!! and david lost 2 pounds which puts him at a total of 10.5 pounds!  I'm so excited!!!  We also had our 4th running session last night and this was a little tougher than it had been.  But I'm hoping Wednesday goes better!  It was the first night running in the heat AND I forgot to use my inhaler before we left. (oops!)


Alright, time to get Manessah to school and myself to work :)  Here's to another healthy day!!!

I like running????

So today was day 3 of our C25K training...and I...(gulp) ENJOYED it!!!!  I'm starting to like it!  Now granted, it's great running weather... so check back next week to here my complain and gripe about running in the heat!  The coolest part about tonight was that we took Manessah along!!!  She did AWESOME!!!!!  I was so incredibly proud of her :)   AND I think I did pretty good myself :)  I wasn't getting out of breath as often as I was on the other 2 days!  I'm so excited about this "new" life we're living!!!  I'm not as tired and I just feel better and happier!!!!  Hopefully Tuesday brings with it another week of loss for us :)  As for me, right now I'm watching Up! with my awesome family!!!! <3

"Running"...Day 2

So we had our second night of working out for the C25K workout....oh my do my legs hurt!!!  But again, I was able to do the entire workout!!! Woot woot!!!!  It's going to be A LOT harder when the warmer weather returns so I hope that I am able to continue doing this good!!!!

Weigh in....

Week three!!!!  I've lost another pound which puts me down 10 pounds in 3 weeks :)  At first I was a little upset because of how much I had lost the weeks before... but I didn't gain!!!

Hubs stayed the same...no loss, no gain.  But he has been lifting weights.  So we've seen what straying can do... so this week we need to stick with it and i KNOW we'll see better results next week!!! Especially since we're doing our 5K training now!!!

Run Forrest Run!!!!

So we have officially started training for the 5K!!!!

Tonight the hubs and I did our first night of the C25K run... and just as I expected, it was tough!!!  Overall, ran 7 minutes!!! I would have never thought I could do that!!! We ran for 20 minutes... todays plan had you run 60 seconds and walk 90... and about half way through it got a little easier.  But by the end it was really hard.  I had to concentrate really hard on my breathing and just keep pushing myself to run. (Well, if you could call it a run... but it was a run for me!!!)  My legs hurt a little and I know that I am going to hurt tomorrow...but I'm excited :)  We did it together and it was great to have him there supporting and encouraging me when I start to drag!  We will run again on Wednesday!

Tomorrow is weigh in day.... and we've had a busy weekend!!!  Saturday we had a birthday party which got us off track a little and then last night we had Wendy's... our first fast food in THREE weeks!!!!! :)  But I'm still excited to see how both of us did!!!!

You want me to run a WHAT?!?!

So...a few weeks ago, I was looking at a friends pictures online.  She had partaken in an event called "Tough Mudder."  I was VERY intrigued by this event and told her someday I'd love to do it with her!! (Check out www.toughmudder.com for a peak at it's awesomeness!!!!)  After that, nothing was really said.

Well today she sent me a link on facebook... the company she works for is hosting a 5K in October and she said to me "How about we start small and you run this with me."  And at first I kind of laughed and said there is NO WAY that in about 2 months I can run 3.2 miles!!!  But the more I thought about it, the more I got pumped up and thoght "Who is saying I CAN'T run this 5K other then me?!?!?!?!?"  So, I've decided to commit to running this event with her!!!!  I'm going to start the Couch to 5K ( www.c25k.com ) running program on Monday and hopefully that will have me trained by the run!  David is going to try to train with me (his knee permitting!) and my cousin Deana said she would run it with me as well!

So here is my short term goal... I would like to STICK TO the C25K plan for the next 9 weeks... and on October 23 I WILL RUN (not walk!) the entire 5K!!!!!

I hope I'm not being unrealisitc...but I think I can do it!!!!

We're rockin' now!!!

Today is our 2nd weigh in.... and again, we both got AWESOME results for our hard work!!!!  David is down another 4.5 lbs for a total of 8.5lbs in 2 weeks!!!!  This past week I am down 6 pounds!!!!!  For a total of 9 pounds in 2 weeks!!!


I am just SO amazed at how easy it has been these past 2 weeks and what great results we have seen thus far!  It is definetly easier doing it with my hubby than it was doing it on my own :)  


And it might sound silly, but my pants are looser then they were so it's really cool to be able to see the loss that way too!


The hardest part for me is trying to get Manessah to understand why we are doing this :/  I mean it's not like I have her on WW, but she is eating the food that we are eating. And we're not buying the junk food anymore, so hopefully it thins her out a little too.  But she just doesn't understand and I'm not really sure how to help her. :( Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!!!


So that's it for today...it's gonna be a great, healthy day!!!

RASCALL FLATTS....and feeling fat

So last night David and I had a date night thanks to his buddy Justin :)  He gave us some tickets to the Chris Young, Kellie Pickler, and Rascal Flatts concert in Hershey!!!  I can honestly say that I would have probably never considered buying tickets to this show, but MAN, did they change my mind!!!!!! So let's re-cap the night!!!


To start, this is where the feeling fat comes in :/  We got to the Giant Center, grabbed some drinks and snacks (ALL within our points!!! avoided fries and nachos!!!) and headed to our seats.  And what did we do at our seats? Well, what most people do...SAT DOWN.  And holy crap I barely fit into the seat.  I was uncomfortable the entire show because the cup holders on either side where pinching down on my thighs. And every time I got up and had to sit back down, I had to really push to get myself in the seat.  I sat there....and cried.  It hurt so much.  I just didn't understand.  I guess I never really considered myself to be THAT fat...but the reality is, I AM.  And at first, it just made me really really sad, and it really hurt.  I basically let this ruin Chris Young's set for me...I just kinda sat there, wondering how I got here... and then I decided to just forget it... I'm trying to change it and next time we go to a concert there, I vowed to myself I WILL be comfortable in my seat!!!!!


So, out comes Kellie Pickler....super cute pink background with her name on it :)  She's wearing an adorable black dress, and SILVER GLITTER SHOES!! They matched her sparkley new engagement ring!!!  She put on an amazing set and was just cute as could be!!!  She even performed 2 Dolly Parton songs and when she sang Jolene, she sounded just like Dolly :)


Then it was time for the Flatts to come out... and WOW.  Just wow.  They totally blew me away!!!  They are super talented guys and they are HILARIOUS!!!!!  They really interacted with the crowd!!  At one point, Gary pulled a little girl up on stage with him and had her walk around with him for almost an entire song!!!  They performed stuff from just about every one of their albums and their stage set up was awesome with all kinds of pyrotechnics and video screens :)  It just really was an incredible show and when we were leaving I told David that I would definitely pay to see them again!!!!!  


So overall, we had a GREAT night...it didn't start out very great, but in the end, reminded me another reason why I am doing this!!!!


And I must say, I'm now a bigger Rascal Flatts fan then I ever was before :)

Time for a new scale!!!

So.......it's weigh in day!!! (dun, dun, duuunnnnnnnnn)  So after an awesome week on WW, I was super excited to step on the scale this morning....and the verdict is....I'M DOWN 3-5.5LBS!!! yeah.... i think it's time for a new scale :/   the first time i stepped on, it said 278.5... which means i would be down 5.5lbs....but it flickered a little so i figured i would check it again. well i ended up checking it like 4 more times and EACH TIME was a different number!!!!!! so i'm going to say i'm down 3lbs!  And on my agenda for this week is purchasing a new scale!!!!! anyone have any suggestions????


And I just got word from my hubby...he is down 4lbs for the week!!! GREAT JOB DAVID!!! I'M SO PROUD OF YOU!!!  So obviously this first week has been an awesome success for us!!!! .... and on a random side not.... talking about an escaped convict on TV they just said "police said they believe mcclusky threw wire cutters over the fence to her fiancée, and cousin...."  so what is wrong with THAT phrase?!?!?! i'm pretty sure they meant he's her fiancée AND her cousin???


anyway, so i'm thankful we've had a good first week and i'm hoping the rest of this journey comes just as easy to us!!!!

First weekend!

So we are half way thru are first weekend on WW....GOING GREAT!!!  David even turned down Weiser's Peanut Butter Cookies....I'M SO PROUD OF HIM!!!!  It's easier to avoid and hunger you might have if I am keeping myself busy, so maybe I can get some studying done...or maybe scrapbooking!!!!!  And I want to thank everyone for all their comments on my blog and my facebook page...it really means a lot to me knowing that my friends believe in me!!!    I would really like to start incorporating exercise into our routine but after coming home from work, I always feel warn out.  And this heat doesn't help!  So I'm hoping to start using the Wii fit BEFORE work!!!! 

Okay, time to go....hubbers and I are heading to Ollie's  :)  Here's to health!!!!

Here's to a good start!!!

So I've decided to give this "blogging" thing a shot.  This blog is going to hopefully hold me accountable!!  Earlier this week, David and I decided to start Weight Watchers... it's no secret that I've never been skinny.  But I'm at a point in my life where I feel that my weight is really starting to effect not only me but my family.  I can't go outside and run around whit Manessah and even worse, I'm seeing her turn into me.  She is heavy and in-active and that is what I always swore I would never let happen to my children.  Doesn't everyone want better for their children then they had??  I don't want her being teased and made fun of for something that we can change NOW.  Also, David and I plan to have more children... but with this body, I think it would be very risky for me to try to get pregnant... I would worry about my safety and the safety of the baby!

So this week, we have turned over a new leaf!!!! (Insert large round of applause and hoots and hollers!!!!)  We are on day 3 and so far things have been going very well for both of us!  I've tried WW before on my own and I have been successful... but always seem to fall off the path somewhere.  However, I can see already that having my husband do this with me is making a difference!!  I'm asking all of you to pray for us and encourage us.  (That means don't ask us to go to dinner at McDonalds!!)  I want us to be a healthy family so we can enjoy our family and friends for years and years to come!!!

So this is the start of what I'm sure will be my ramblings...feel free to comment me.  Hopefully thur WW and with the help of friends and family, we will become THE DEAMERS....HEALTH FREAKS!!!!!
